Who is The Sugar Chic? The Sugar Chic is Melissa Chicarelli, sugar artist. Learn more about me here.Do you have a public storefront?We currently work out of a private, licensed commercial kitchen. Public storefront on the radar for 2012! Stay tuned!How do I order?Just fill out the order inquiry form on my contact page We will get back to you as soon as possible with availability. The more info you can give the easier it will be to give a full quote. Try to include the event/favor type, number of guests, and location. Any ideas, inspiration or examples are welcome as well!What is the recommended lead time to order cookies?For designs pictured on our website, we recommend at least two weeks notice, but can accomodate most orders with one week's notice (this may exclude very large quantity or custom printed orders). If you're looking for a custom order or 'new' design (something you don't see in our galleries), we will need more lead time to best accomodate your request. How much do you charge?Check out our shoppe for prices. Since most of our creations are customized for your event, additional customization and detail may increase cost. Is packaging included in the price?All cookies come individually wrapped in a clear cellophane bag and tied with a satin ribbon. please visit our ribbon gallery to choose your ribbon color. if you'd like a personalized tag attached, it is 25 cents more per cookie for cardstock, or 50 cents more for photo paper. There are some examples of tags to choose from in our tag gallery. What forms of payment do you accept?We accept credit card payments via Paypal, checks and cash.What do your favor cookies taste like? Our cookies are a classic sugar/butter cookie, made with simple, fresh ingredients to produce a slightly crunchy, soft centered texture. our icing is softer than most, with a mildly sweet marshmallow flavor. Can you send me a cookie favor sample?We'd be glad to send you a sample! Please contact us and let us know what you are looking for and include your address. Your sample will be made fresh and shipped within one week of request. Free! How long will my cookies stay fresh? As there are no preservatives in our cookies, we recommend eating within ten days of receiving them. If you'd like to keep our cookies as a keepsake, they will stay beautiful for quite a while, as long as they're kept in original packaging and out of heat and direct light. However, we recommend eating them as they are super yummy!Do you offer classic cookies as favors?Yes! Check out our classic stacked cookie favors .Do you offer cupcakes as favors?Cupcake favors can be used for many occasions! From weddings to birthdays, we do an adorable single cupcake favor in its own box. Do you do wedding cakes?Yes. With sufficient notice and availability, we would love to create your wedding cake! Pick-up and local delivery only :)Do you ship cookies?Yes! We do ship our cookies. We can ship anywhere in the country. Shipping and handling charges will apply. (Cupcake favors cannot be shipped.)When will you ship my cookies?As we bake each order fresh the week of your event, expect them to arrive to you 1-2 days prior to your event date. This ensures you have a fresh and tasty product! How do you ship the cookies?Each favor is layered flat and securely in a sturdy 200 lb. test corrugated cardboard box with large bubble wrap separating each layer and paper shred cushioning the top and bottom. With all orders, 1-3 extras are sent (depending on fragility) to compensate for breakage. You will most likely be eating the extra right away :) We do not guarantee for breakage, but have had little to no issues since we began shipping in 2008.Do you hand deliver?Although pick-up or shipping is preferred, delivery may be arranged to both Nassau and most of Suffolk Counties for a fee (minimum orders may apply). Delivery for further destinations may be arranged for larger orders with a minimum price and availability.Are you a nut free kitchen?No, our kitchen is NOT a nut free kitchen.
